CLUB INFORMATIONThe club is a new one, we only started it up officially in late January 2007 with a bunch of keen skippers who are also only too pleased to guide and encourage beginners in the sport. At the outset we decided to continue to sail the affordable “Strict one Class Design“ the RC Laser. This is a ¼ scale version of a laser dinghy. The craft is a large 42inch long ready built and ready to go model (4 official rigs may be used) which relies upon the skippers skill for sail set up and race tactics, rather than how much money can be spent. We are fortunate to have excellent on shore facilities to hand. The club runs a 4 season race programme on Sunday mornings, with sail/race training on Thursday evenings + other yachts in the summer. We now own a rescue rowing dinghy. Incidentally, anyone can also access the local web site “weather station” located on/in the café. (www.stokegabrielweather.org.uk).
